Clive Wood was born in Zimbabwe, and moved to the United States in his early 30's where he had his own design, build, construction business in the San Francisco Bay Area. He decided to combine his skills with his passion for travel to create The Courtney Boutique Lodge - a luxurious sanctuary that has quickly become one of the most sought-after destinations for discerning travelers.

With his years of experience in construction, Clive was able to carefully design and build every aspect of The Courtney to ensure that it was not only visually stunning but also structurally sound. From the foundation to the finishing touches, no detail was overlooked in creating this exceptional lodge.

Leslie Adler is an integral part of The Courtney Boutique Lodge. Having been born and raised in the United States, she developed a passion for Zimbabwe after years of traveling with her late husband in Africa. She brings her own unique talents and skills to the table, with a particular focus on design.

Leslie's eye for design is truly impeccable, and it can be seen throughout every aspect of The Courtney. From the carefully curated artwork on the walls to the luxurious fabrics and finishes, every detail has been chosen with care to create a cohesive and visually stunning experience for guests. Together, Clive and Leslie have created something truly special with The Courtney Boutique Lodge. Taku Winston Mundanga

Lodge Manager: Taku Mundanga

Taku Winston Mundanga, born 33 years ago in Bulawayo, is the lodge manager at The Courtney boutique hotel in Victoria Falls. He brings a wealth of experience in safari, hospitality and tourism management to the role.

Taku obtained a degree in Tourism and Environmental Management from the University of Zimbabwe. He began his career working in some of Zimbabwe's most iconic wildlife destinations like Hwange National Park, Mana Pools and Kariba, which cemented his love for nature and the country.

For two years, Taku broadened his horizons working in boutique hotels in Cape Town, South Africa. This exposed him to fine hospitality standards and different cultures that he brings to The Courtney.

Taku has always dreamed of living in Victoria Falls, known for its well-kept environment and wildlife. Joining The Courtney as lodge manager has fulfilled that dream.

Meeting different people from around the world and learning about their diverse cultures is something Taku enjoys about his job. In his free time, he loves hiking and nature walks, and sometimes just relaxing in a park taking in all the sounds of Victoria Falls' beautiful natural surroundings.

Robert Phiri, Estate Manager, The Courtney

Estate Manager: Robert Phiri

Robert Phiri, born in Zimbabwe, has worked with the Wood family his whole life. A multi-skilled tradesman, he is the estate manager for The Courtney, keeping the grounds and hotel immaculately maintained. He is also available on-site should any issue need to be attended to.

Robbie as he is affectionately known, loves to spend time with his wife and daughter when not working at The Courtney.
